Our Story

Hi, I’m Lindsey! CEO of Closet Moll (along with my husband, Gary). I’m a mum of 2 young children, based in Co. Wicklow.

The idea for Closet Moll came about during covid. At the start of the lockdown, I decided to take the opportunity to finally clear out my closet. I had piles and piles of clothes that I had been holding on to unnecessarily. Some clothes I knew I’d never fit into again (as much as I tried to convince myself otherwise!), some clothes I knew there would never be another event to wear them to, and others, still new with tags that I had never even worn. With the entire country shut down, and all charity shops closed I asked around for suggestions of where I could sell or pass on my clothes online. The overwhelming response was that while people wanted to sell their clothing, they had difficulty finding a platform on which to do it.

My husband Gary had the idea of creating a platform ourselves (I think he was willing to do anything to get rid of all of the bags of clothes stacking up in the hallway!). When we started the process, we thought it would be a little project that would take about 6 weeks. It’s taken nearly 3 years, a huge learning curve and extremely patient and talented developers to finally be ready to launch. When we started to build the website, the main objective was for people to be able to buy and sell pre-loved clothing online, but through the process I realised how important it is to reduce waste and be more conscious of the earth we are leaving to our children. I love the idea of making fashion more sustainable and guilt-free while people can make and save money by buying and selling pre-loved clothing.
